Witteveen+Bos Consulting Engineers is an employee-owned, fully independent Dutch firm of engineering consultants. Established in 1946, the firm gradually expanded to a professional staff of more than 1000, working in interdisciplinary teams in countries world-wide.
The many successfully completed projects over the years show that we serve our clients with creative and innovative, as well as cost-effective solutions. Our expertise is not confined to engineering and technological issues only, but also extends to economic, social and organisational aspects, which in our view, is essential for undertaking complex technical and engineering projects.
As one of the leading consulting engineering firms in the Netherlands, our knowledge and expertise is also frequently called upon from abroad. Besides operating in nearby countries (Belgium, Germany, United Kingdom) we have been active for more than 30 years in Indonesia and in the Caribbean. Witteveen+Bos maintains an office in Jakarta. We additionally have offices in Aktau, Atyrau and Almaty (Kazakhstan), St. Petersburg (Russia) and Ho Chi Minh City (Vietnam). In the Caribbean we cooperate very closely with Civil Engineering Caribbean (CEC), a company with offices on Curaçao, Aruba and St. Maarten. Since 1990 there has been a great demand in central and eastern Europe for the kind of engineering expertise and know-how that we provide. Over the past two decades we have been involved in projects in numerous central and eastern European countries. In 2014 Witteveen+Bos established offices in Singapore and in Dubai (United Arab Emirates).
Witteveen+Bos has been active in Latvia since 1990. The first contacts were a result of a cooperation between the province of Overijssel and the City of Riga. Subsequent contacts with Riga Komunalprojekts resulted in an active exchange of information and experiences. In 1995 the first real project materialised for the port of Ventspils. More projects followed and to be of better service to our clients, Witteveen+Bos Latvia was established and an office in Riga was set up in 2002. Our projects are executed in the public sector for ministries, municipalities, semi-governmental organisations and the private sector. Current projects concern working in the areas of ports, bridges and mobility.
