Reconstruction of the A7 and Kekava Bypass

Client:
SJSC Latvjas Valsts Celi

Preparation of the technical design and tender documents for the reconstruction of the existing section of the road A7 Riga - Kekava (km 7,9 – km 25,0).

Many important roads in Latvia have to be upgraded to EU standards. Road capacity near Riga is to be increased. The A7 now is a regional road south-east of Riga. A reconstruction is planned to turn the northern part of the A7 into a motorway and the rest into a highway. The road leads through the village of Kekava. A bypass (total length approximately 13 km) is necessary here, including connections with the urban roads and a fly-over.

Witteveen+Bos was responsible for:

  • the technical design and tender documents for the reconstruction of the A7
  • sketch design and tender documents for the design and build tender for the Kekava Bypass
  • Environmental Impact Assessment for the Kekava Bypass
